Isle of Wight
- The Isle of Wight is situated off the South Coast of England and is a world renowned destination for sailing enthusiasts both amateur and professional.
- The Island is home to the annual Cowes Week Regatta and the famous Isle of Wight Festival which take place in August and June every year respectively.
- The population (mid 2007) stands at 138,500.
- Principal towns are Newport, Ryde and Shanklin of which Newport is the Capital and the Island covering an area 28 miles by 16 miles.
- The island is acclaimed for producing garlic.
